Mr. Bark Lee and Grief

Grief is a hard thing for all of us to experience but for children it can be especially confusing. Mr. Bark Lee talks to Skippy the Skunk about the loss of his beloved Granny Skunk. Skippy cannot understand why she had to go away. Mr. Bark Lee explains that she went to another forest, with beautiful trees and flowers. Skippy wants to know why he can’t go too and Mr. Bark Lee tells him that it is not time for him to go. However, his Granny will always be in his heart and he can talk to her whenever he needs to. He also explains that it is okay to cry and he can come talk to him, his forest friends, and God whenever he is sad. The Bible verse is Psalms 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”
